Hygger Horizon 8 Gallon LED Glass Aquarium Kit Review | Best Shrimp Tank for Freshwater Shrimp

1. Hygger Horizon 8 Gallon LED Glass Aquarium Kit

This freshwater shrimp aquarium is so gorgeous to look at, made from 5mm thick and ultra-transparent high-quality glass, bent on the front side.

The tank capacity is 8 gallons, but some of the space is taken by the 3d Aquarium Background with a lovely rocky texture, wich is undetachable. There’s still plenty of room for your freshwater shrimp, particularly smaller ones like neocaridina.

How to setup your freshwater shrimp tank

Once you get your shrimp tank kit you’ll need a few other things to get started. Make sure you have all of the following:

  • Aquarium with at least 5-gallon capacity
  • Aquarium cover lid
  • LED lights suitable for plant growth
  • Freshwater plant substrate
  • Shrimp filter
  • Water conditioner sachet
  • Live freshwater plants
  • Shrimp food

Once you have everything ready, you will need to start building your shrimp habitat before you introduce your dwarf shrimp in it. Make sure to follow instructions in your kit and allow a couple of weeks to cycle the water accordingly and setup your vegetation in the tank. You may want to add a few hardy fish and/or freshwater snails to your tank about a month before introducing shrimp while you keep an eye on your water parameters and make sure the tank is clear from ammonia and nitrites.

Once your tank is ready, you can finally add your dwarf shrimp! Check our suggestions for 5-gallon shrimp nano tank or stocking ideas for a 10-gallon shrimp nano tank if you need inspiration. Happy shrimp keeping!
